5 Things I Learned in 2021

'

I know, I know, I'm a little late with this post, as we're now in February of 2022. But I had to think about it a bit, to understand what I learned, and how I'm going to incorporate it into my life this year and going forward. So here goes...

1. I learned that I need to find beautify in the world more than ever right now. The world today is a pretty scary place. Epidemic, politics, crime and threat of wars are hanging over us and infecting our lives. And while they are fact and I'm not closing my eyes to to any of it, I'm choosing to concentrate on the immense amount of beauty that still exists in this world.

2. I learned that creating art, painting, helps me capture the beauty in the world. But more than that, I hope that my part will bring a piece of that beauty to those who look at it, whether online or hanging on their walls. I hope it helps someone who feels sad or depressed about the world to remember that the world is still beautiful and it's only up to us to discover it and hold on to it.

3. I learned that I want a simpler life, closer to nature and this will drive a lot of my goals for the next few years.

4. I learned that, even though anxiety sometimes overwhelms me, I can control it and I can move forward and not be afraid. I can put myself out there and enjoy the process. And as Susan Jeffers says, I can "feel the fear, and do it anyway."

5. I learned that no matter how dark one day may seem, the next day the sun is shining and the world feels better again. But the dark days have their lessons too. If I just experience everything and stay present, I will be good. And to experience it all makes me excited and hopeful.

So I hope you follow my journey and my process to find and capture beauty through art and photography and to bring it to you so you can also be able to hold on to it and that it will make you just a little happier.

The beauty of the world awaits
